My first nanny job was for a 1and a half year old till she was three. Living in the home with her, her mother, and Sage, a 115lb rottweiler. Countless times I'm left watching the house taking care of animals and running kids and errands for several close friends. I've also helped two friends and their families with accepting hospice in their cancer walk. Driving to chemo, radiation, helping the family to adjust to losing their loved one, and encouraging them to make their peace before they go and still have their faculties, drug interactions, dietary changes, and the need to DRINK WATER...
But kids, oh, I had a wondrous grandma who taught me all the cool stuff to do. To remember your imagination is the only thing that limits your reality. And hearty snacks, crafts, and the great outdoors, board games, driving games, playing in the rain (within reason)... And SONGS! I know so many nursery rhymes, folk songs, and lullabyes! And love when everyone pipes in! Tender ages are the most fertile ground to inspire, to build dreams, to DISCOVER... to BELIEVE!
