Animals have a six scents about knowing if a person is good or not; when an animal looks into my eyes, It feels like they are looking into my soul. And they see I’m a loving, caring person with a big heart for them. many pet owners say, “they never seen their pet walk over to a person like me.”
A good example is with my new dog Ruggs; when I first met his family, his sisters and one brother were huddled together in their crate. One of his sisters found the courage to walk out of the crate and explore the yard. I was sitting in front of their crate when Ruggs was the second puppy to walk from his crate. He walked up to me, and I reached out to pick him up; when I held him in my arms, he immediately rested his head on my shoulder. I made the loudest “AW.” My mother was with me at that time; when she heard my “AW,” she looked to the breeder and said, “We’ll take that one.”
Another excellent example of his six scents was when I saw one of his sisters sniffing the ground, away from her pack. I walked and kneeled, asking her if she would like me to scratch her back. She walked away from me, then Ruggs walked over to me, sat down, and stared at me. I said “AW” again, picked him up, and said, “Are you jealous?” the breeder laughed and said, “No, he’s saying you are his human, and you only belong to him.” from there on out, Ruggs and I share a strong bond.
