Emily’s Bio
Hiya! My name is Emily, I'm 27, and I'm a traveling Occupational Therapist from NY currently living/working in the Napa/Sonoma area. I love caretaking ALL ages (with experience with and without intellectual and physical disabilities). I have clinical and professional experience with toddlers, young kiddos, teens, and older folks/seniors (65+). I have personal experience caring for every age throughout the experience, as I have helped raise my younger siblings, care for friends' newborns/children, I worked in group homes for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities for about 7 years, and have taken care of aging family members. I am CPR/basic life support certified and have experience with choking situations and emergency situations, along with caring for individuals who are sick. Additionally, I have worked as a tutor for a plethora of subjects, have served as a camp counselor for kiddos and adults, and have been a teacher in science and reading summer camps for children. As for the furry friends side of caretaking, I have worked as a professional caretaker for animals as an in-house sitter when families are away living their lives on vacations or short-term absences. I absolutely adore my job as an OT and love looking for new ways to facilitate independence for individuals to allow them to be more functional in all areas of life through therapeutic activities, developmentally appropriate games, and a lot of giggles/lightheartedness.
In my personal life, I enjoy all sorts of creative endeavors, traveling, reading, hiking, and hanging out with my cat, Frankie! I have experience in the theater domain and am an avid Buffalo Bills football fan (49ers are good while I'm here, though!) I currently have a lot of short-term availability, as I'm a traveling OT waiting for all of the licensure steps to be processed, and even when I work full-time, I'm open for anything that works around my typical 9-5 schedule. I would love to hangout with your loved ones while you do the things you need to do! I have a ton of OT activities up my sleeve for developmentally appropriate fun and learning, and would love to get to know you and your family! Feel free if you would like to reach out for babysitting care, senior hangouts, or some attention for your furry friends; I'm here for it all!
