My name is Aly and I am an all around pet lover. I've always had an animal growing up ranging from fish to dogs. My experience includes a year working in a small animal vet as a kennel technician where I helped take care of dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, I was responsible for giving medications, making sure they had food and water, taking them out to go to the bathroom, and stimulating them with toys and playtime to make sure they got all the love needed while their owners were away. For the past 2 summers I have worked at a stable where I have taught kids and adults of all ages the basic and intermediate skills of English horseback riding, as well as how to take care of their horses before and after their lessons. Outside of lessons, I was responsible for feeding the horses, making sure each got their needed grains, applying medications when needed, walking the horses, and making sure they had fresh water if they did not have an automatic faucet in their stalls. For the past 7 months I have been volunteering my time at an aquarium learning about and working with various fish, stingrays, sea horses, penguins, parakeets, sharks, and sea otters. I was responsible for making sure the tanks had clean filter bags and if they did not I was to change and clean the dirty ones, prepare food for the next day, help the aquarists feed animals, feed animals aquarists on my own that aquarists trusted me to, clean fish tanks and bird cages, and offer work support where the aquarists needed it.
