We have a small (40lbs) pitbull that we adopted at 16 months who is very sensitive (likely abused). She is used to having someone with her for most of the day/night (short, 1-2 hour breaks on her own is OK). My partner and I have limited travel as we have not found a suitable situation for our dogs' needs when we are away for too long.
We're looking for someone who is able to invest in a long-term partnership that might include 1-2 daily visits per month (lasting 1-3 hours) to allow us time to take care of work/other needs away from home, as well as build a relationship with our pup. We also would like someone who could care for her in our home 1-2 times per year so we can take vacations, even if only for a few days.
Our dog is currently 4 yo and still active, so playtimes in our fenced yard are needed, but no walks since she can be reactive if she encounters other dogs (has never exhibited aggression - just has difficulty interacting with other dogs, particularly on-leash.)
