Decorating eggs with kids always runs the risk of a major mess with a lot of Pinterest fails taking up space in your fridge. If you want a creative afternoon that both you and the kids will love, try one of these simple (and affordable!) Easter egg decorating ideas.
Sticker and Sharpie
Take a sharpie and make little dots around the sticker. Start close together and then make them farther and farther apart.
Egg Frames
Draw frames on eggs with a permanent marker. Have the kids draw pictures inside frames and then dye them leaving the framed picture above the dye.
Hole Reinforcement Stickers
Found at any office supply store, kids can get creative with the designs they can come up with using this unique sticker.
Washi Tape
The adorable and popular Washi tape is so thin and somewhat transparent, that it lends itself well to decorating small, odd-shaped items. Like eggs!
Floral Easter Eggs
Anyone can become an impressionist painter. Simply use watercolor paint to make small X’s with dots in the center.
Polka-Dot Eggs
Add texture with a hot glue gun in your pattern of choice, then dip into the dye.
Cool Whip Dye
Muffin tin, Cool Whip, gel food coloring: swirl with a toothpick. 10 minutes each side, lightly rinse. Magic.
Kool-Aid Easter Eggs
Squeeze Kool-Aid over eggs in a random pattern allowing it to drip down the sides of the egg. Use a cookie sheet lined with paper towels and a metal cooling rack to keep the mess to a minimum.
