I have worked in childcare for 17 years, most recently as an Assistant Director, and preschool teacher. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I have worked with all age groups in my career, in all kinds of settings, and I have enjoyed meeting children where they are at as we explore and learn together. I am educated on developmentally appropriate practices and milestones and best practice in childcare. I love taking children outdoors and exploring with them and allowing them to play. I am a health conscious person both in my own life and care, and I like to encourage healthy choices with those in my care. I think that social and emotional development will always come before academics; it is most important we teach our children to be good people, to feel safe and loved, and how to reciprocate that back into their environment. Though, I do love Read more to watch children learning, and strive to bring meaningful excitment to learning. Personally, i love to read, study and learn. I enjoy discussion and new perspectives. I am somewhat musical. I also have a relatively laid back personality and i like to joke around with the children i care for. I am also a bit artsy and like to make things together; I like baking and cooking with kids too. I am looking for a good fit for my needs and a family who feels i will meet theirs. While I am able to be flexible, I do prefer routine for myself and am interested in a steady schedule and a reasonable distance from home.
