I have been working with children virtually my entire adult life, I started babysitting when a teenager & got my first job at Olympic Athletic Club in the childcare center. I started working as a part time employee & quickly became the evening supervisor due to my quick thinking & attentiveness to the children. Since then, I have worked in school settings where I have been a substitute para educator which has a broad range of responsibilities depending on the child’s abilities as well as the age of the child, but can range from preschool age through 12th grade helping them to learn how to write their name to being an assistant type to those who need more medical care and attention. I have also worked overseas in Kuwait for a school year as a second teacher in a preschool class at an all girls school. I have taken the Read more last 10 years off as I’ve had my own little human who is now 7 and is in first grade. I love to help children grow & learn & find their passions, things that make them happy & joyful, knowing that the young minds I am working with are the future of our society. I approach my care with kindness & love but with strict boundaries for things like rules, manners, ethics etc…& even when enforcing said boundaries I try to approach them with gentleness so kids can learn why we have boundaries, what they are & why they are important. There may be times when I would need to bring my 7 year old along with me (mostly weekends), but that would be discussed prior to that possibility.
