Hello, I am a former ICU nurse/ rehab counselor and court expert witness. I worked as a nanny / babysitter in my youth. I have 2 Master degrees in Rehabilitation and Community Counseling. I retired early. I am 60 and an empty nester. My husband and I have 5 children in total. All of our children have graduated or currently attending college. We are very happy to report none of our children have been arrested. My 87 year old mother, my husband and I live on 5 acres near La Center. We moved to Washington from Minnesota 3 years ago, the August before Covid. I miss children and would like to care for an infant. Actually, My mother would also like to baby sit with me at times (no extra charge, of course). I would care for the infant. My mom would maybe feed, hold and rock the baby. She Read more misses being around children as well. Mom is very active but I would be carrying and changing the diapers etc. I don’t think an 87 year old grandmother needs to be walking around with an infant. My mother and I are pretty good cooks. We could cook an evening meal. I am able to care for cats, dogs and horses. I have raised, shown and trained dogs and horses. We currently have 3 dogs and 3 rescue cats. We have a Portuguese Water Dog, Rottweiler and rescue Pitbull. Through the years I have had many breeds of dogs. Years ago I had a Corgi that I trained to be a rehab dog. She went to the hospital with me everyday. I was a Director in the hospital that provided intensive care rehab to infants and children. It was so great to bring Lucy to work with me. She was fantastic. I would be able to care for any animal. I am open to completing some cleaning tasks but, really want to concentrate on caring for the baby. I could wash and fold clothes. This is an unusual skill, but my mother and I pride ourselves in being wonderful laundresses. My mom is very funny. She says she is able to get any stain out of clothing and has very “white socks and towels”. I have successfully passed numerous criminal checks and history reviews due to my work as a court witness and medical vocational career. My hobbies have been in theatre, musical theatre and visual arts. In closing, I want to care for an infant with part time hours with reasonable and kind parents. I would not mind if the parents work from home. I am open to pet and house sitting as well. Sincerely, Julie Quanrud
