I have been engaged in one form or another of childcare for the past 6 years. After holding several babysitting jobs throughout high school, I started my first "real job" at Trinity Presbyterian preschool in Montromgery, AL while attending classes at Huntingdon College. After transferring to Portland State University where I completed my bachelor's of psychology I worked at 24 Hour Fitness as a Kids' Club attendant caring for and engaging with children ages 6 months to 12 years and as a nanny for a six and nine year old. While I was nannying I was responsible for transportation to and from extracurricular activities, preparing healthy, kid-friendly meals, and helping with homework. Since moving to Norfolk with my Sailor husband I worked at First Presbyterian Preschool in the Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk for two years in the twos classroom. When the coronavirus pandemic hit I transitioned into caring for a Read more two and four year old from the preschool. During this time I was responsible for assisting in virtual learning, making meals, encouraging creative play and navigating the pandemic-centric world we are living in with two little ones. I am CPR/First Aid certified, have my own transportation and excellent driving record, am comfortable with pets and light child-related house work, and I sing a pretty good lullaby. I look forward to discussing any potential employment.
