Hello Mom or Dad! Let me tell you about my child care experiences over the past 40 years. (Yes, 40!) My adventures began at the age of 13 when I was the neighborhood sitter. At the age of 19, I volunteered in the Big Brother/Big Sister program and had a little "brother" for seven years. I also worked with a group called "New Kids on the Block" (not the Boy Band) performing puppet shows to teach children about people with disabilities. In my mid-twenties, I cared for a three year old boy named Tommy as his live-in nanny until he started kindergarten. After that I became a Washington DC tour guide and enjoyed working with the many school groups that came to visit our nation's capital. I moved to Florida in 1999 and took classes to receive my Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential so that I could work full-time in Read more child care. In 2010, I received my AA in Early Childhood Education. During my time in Florida, I worked for several preschools and was also the nursery director for a large church. Over the years I have worked with all ages, from infants to high school. When I moved back to the DMV in 2016, I became a full-time nanny for a wonderful family. Currently, I teach pre-K classes for a non-profit organization and still nanny part time as well. I have my First Aid/CPR/AED certifications, COVID shot plus boosters and my own reliable vehicle. I love working with children and feel blessed that I have had so many opportunities over the years to make a difference in the lives of so many little ones. Children need to be cherished and seen as the gifts they truly are!
