Hi there! My name is Gabe. I'm 25 years old and moved to Utah less than a year ago. Initially I moved here to take a job in wilderness therapy working with adolescent boys. I worked there for 7 months helping those challenged with substance abuse, suicidal tendencies, depression, anxiety and the like. I have about 3.5 years of experience of working with students in different capacities. Through an broad combination of jobs, I have worked with ages 16 months all the way up to 17 years old. My positions have included: teaching assistant for middle school ages; afterschool teacher and coordinator for ages 16 months through 8th grade (at a Montessori school); tutor for 2nd thru 5th grade; substitute for multiple grade levels. I have tutored/nannied for about a semester before I was mostly substituting. At the start of the pandemic, I was doing childcare at the Montessori school Read more I worked at since we still had to remain open for children of medical professionals. I am half-Nicaraguan so I'm fluent in Spanish and have aided in native speaker Spanish classrooms and taught in Spanish before. My degree is in Theatre and I have acted professionally for 3 years in mostly theatre and some commercials. I also heavily dabble in writing and poetry. This has greatly helped my creativity in educational circles and my pursuit of artistic opportunities in general. I had an eclectic upbringing myself and continue to foster a philosophy of creativity, imagination and care. I am an ardent lover of the outdoors and the beauty that nature provides. Certifications: CPR/AED Certified, Wilderness First Responder Certification I believe I am qualified for such a position and would like the opportunity to meet with you.
