My 5+ years of experience as a babysitter and overnight/multi-day nanny and 2 years experience in tutoring and teaching have taught me two things: I love children and every child is unique! I am skilled at building connections with the kids I care for, thinking quickly in fast-paced environments, and listen to what every child needs (even when they won't tell you directly). I believe the best way to connect with each child is by engaging them in activities they enjoy and learn from. My suggestions: Problem-solving and memory games, such as puzzles and flashcards, reading, and time outside is great for young tots! With older youngsters, I find it fun (and so do they!) to involve them in cooking and baking, arts and crafts, and any other interests that are specific to them.
