Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Deweese. I’m 21 years old with 8 years babysitting and 5 years of part and full time nanny experience. I also worked in a nursery at my church for 2 years in the infant and toddler rooms until Covid hit and childcare was no longer needed because everything was switched to virtual. I have cared for children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 10 years old however, I primarily care for children under 4 years old. I am currently in school online getting an early childhood- 6th grade teaching degree and certificate and then move on to get a masters degree in deaf education so I can pursue my goal of being a preschool teacher in a deaf education classroom. I know American Sign Language and love teaching it to children and infants so it gives them a way to communicate if they can’t Read more talk reliably yet. I pride myself on punctuality and having open communication with families. I’m looking for a new nanny job since I recently came back to Texas after being in Oklahoma for school. I transferred from my school in Oklahoma to a school in Texas because I was unable to continue playing softball after sustaining an injury. I’m comfortable driving children to parks or playgrounds as long as car seats are provided but with Covid that has been difficult. I love being outdoors and getting fresh air while seeing new surroundings but keeping children safe while doing it. I like setting aside a set time to work on educational activities. For children that are toddlers or older I like working on some preschool or kindergarten readiness items such as letter recognition and letter sounds, numbers, colors, and work on the beginning stages of reading. For younger children like babies I like working on developmental milestones. I think safety is most important when caring for children and will do everything to ensure play areas and activities are free of any hazards or anything that could hurt a child. With the pandemic I have been extremely diligent about staying home as much as possible and if I do have to go out, I wear a mask, social distance and wash my hands when I get home. My phone number is (469) 478-6823. Thank you for taking the time to read my response and I would love to be considered for your nanny position.
