I first discovered my talent for caring for others at a young age. I started babysitting in my early teens on date nights for my teachers two-year-old twins. It started out as a way for me to make a little money, but I grew to love it very quickly. Throughout the rest of high school I volunteered at sleepaway camps, day camps, and taught catechism once a week to a precious group of five-year-olds. In my first few years in college I nannied off and on for two little boys before they started preschool and did a summer with infant twins, which was a challenge but a great experience. When my school schedule got a bit more busy, I worked as a swim instructor, teaching children from three months to nine years old. I am certified as a swim instructor and have recently renewed my CPR certification. My most recent Read more employment has been with a family with three children who I had an instant attachment to and I have absolutely loved working with them and watching them grow. As for my education, I am pursuing a nursing degree and an RN license so I can fulfill my dream of working as a pediatric nurse. That being said, the safety, happiness, and well-being of children is my top priority and something I’m truly passionate about. I like to stay active and love the outdoors. Walks and outdoor activities are some of my favorite things to do with kids, weather permitting. If the weather is bad, I’m a big crafter and have even taught a couple of my charges how to read music and play very basic piano. There is nothing in the world that can compare to the joy that comes from watching a child grow and learn even the smallest things. I feel so lucky to be able to do it for a job.
