I am a calm, compassionate, energetic, loving, and patient person, who enjoys having fun, while caring for and educating children! We will have so much fun doing crafts, playing games, going outside, dancing, singing, reading books, etc., and of course, always staying safe while we play. I will help with learning activities, diapers or potty training, homework or virtual school, meals/snacks, naps, etc. I am easy-going, flexible, and able to adapt to your family’s needs! My husband and I are originally from New Orleans, LA, but moved to Austin, TX in 2013. We recently sold our house and moved to Galveston, TX in July 2021. We have two dogs. Rusty is a 3-year-old, Golden Retriever/Pitt Bull mix, and Laci is a 1-year-old, Coonhound/Great Pyrenees mix. Although, we do not have our own children; I love children!! I hired Raquel in November 2020 part time to take care of my then 2.5 YO daughter . We had a really great experience with Raquel and my older 6 YO daughter would also love to hang out and play with Raquel . Raquel was absolutely wonderful with my kids - she would do crafts with them , read stories , do a lot of art , teach them good manners and go outside for walks and playtime . She is very trustworthy , polite , never seen her impatient with kids , always willing to answer the kid’s questions and play silly with them . My daughters love her . My 3 YO is going back to school full time and so we had to let Raquel go . But I won’t at all hesitate to hire her again when ever I need childcare in future . Highly recommend Raquel for any family.

I should begin this review by say that Raquel never actually watched our children, but we had a great interview experience with her! I wanted to write a review for her because it was clear how much she loves working with children and how she values the opportunity to provide individualized attention to children. She was friendly and professional, prompt in communication, and thorough in answering my questions (both in writing and on the phone). She would be a great fit for a lot of families!
