My name is Tamara, and I've been both a long-term substitute teacher and have helped care for two children while I was in college, one of whom had special needs. While substitute teaching, the teacher whom I was substituting for opted to stay out the majority of the school year, so I worked with her 6th grade students 1.5 semesters, planned their lessons, and administered tests, etc. I have an associate's degree in Peace Studies, a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, and a master's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. I'm also an artist, nature lover, and enjoyed sharing that with the kids that I've taught or cared for. I think education is key, and having adults in a child's life that have an enthusiasm for learning can help motivate children to become life-long learners.
