My name is Justine and I have a passion for music and the arts, and cultivating that with kids! I grew up playing trombone professionally, as well as teaching children beginner piano and trombone, starting at the age of 12. I have nannied for many families around Boston, where I just moved from, but did not get paid as it was something I wanted to do to help out during their difficult moments. I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Trombone Performance in 2015 and started working at LEGOLAND immediately after for a paycheck while looking for a job in music. Four years later and I was the Guest Experience Manager and Health & Safety Manager at LEGOLAND, with the main focus of my job being that the children and families visiting had the most fun and safe visit possible. I love being able to help children, whether that is getting them to play, develop their learning, or finding passions they want to try. What I also find important to nannying is being able to seamlessly fall into how parents want their kids to be raised so that there is no confusion in the household. Nannying professionally wasn't something I thought I would ever consider, but I was laid off from my job in March because of Covid and fell into it. There was a family I was close with who was struggling to work from home full-time and balance watching their three kids: an infant, a rambunctious three year old, and a seven year who is non-verbal and on the spectrum. During my months of being laid off I lived with them and helped them with nannying, doing household chores, and watching their dog (both parents worked about 80-90 hours/week). I absolutely loved every second of it and want nothing more than to find another loving family that I can join and help in any way that I can during these difficult times. I recently moved to Austin because I wanted to move to a place where music and arts are vibrant, plus it's a lot cheaper than Boston!
