I am a retired educator and worked as a nanny in Pittsburgh, PA after retirement and am new to the Summerville/Charleston area. I began specializing in night time care for newborns, assisting working families and/or moms recovering from c-sections who need rest during the night. While I have 40 years plus experience teaching children of all ages, I started nannying with a professional agency in 2015, with very high standards of background checks, fingerprinting, CPR training, etc. I was employed with my first family with their newborn and stayed with them until their third child was born. At that point they needed a full-time household manager so I transitioned to shorter term night care for newborns and find this very rewarding. My job is to be in partnership with the parent so they can be assured that their child is in responsible, and reliable "grandmotherly" hands, for care and feeding Read more throughout the night. I align my method of care and philosophy with the late Tracy Hogg, author of 'The Secrets of The Baby Whisperer,' but always defer to the parent's wishes first and foremost for consistency and well-being of the child.
