My name is Alicja and I am looking for a babysitting position. I am passionate about working with children, especially when it comes to education and a healthy diet. I love reading books with children, singing, and doing arts and crafts. I have a lot of experience working with children. I was a mother's helper in MA working with 13 month old twins. I changed their diapers, gave them baths, prepared and fed them meals, went to the park with them, read with them, and played with them (arts and crafts, playing catch). To put them to sleep, I would established a sleep schedule with the children and stuck to that schedule every night. First, I would close the curtains to set up the mood that it is night time and time to sleep. I would change their diapers or bring them to the bathroom to wash up, change into Read more pajamas, bring them their favorite stuffed animal they like to sleep with, read their favorite book(s), rub their back, hold their hand, and finally stayed with them until they fell asleep. At the same time, I worked in a day care working with 3-5 year olds. These children spoke limited English. Their primary language was Chinese so I learned how to speak to them using facial expressions and my hands. Currently, I am an 8th grade science teacher as well as an art teacher at Breakthrough Collaborative of Greater Philadelphia. I received my high school degree from Boston Latin School, the first public high school in America and just received my Bachelors degree from Clark University. I am going to Thomas Jefferson University to get my BSN. I am very strong-willed and very a strong drive and worth ethic. I am able to self-advocate and speak up for myself. I can address concerns in a professional manner with my supervisor/employer. Therefore, I have excellent listening and communication skills. I am very organized and detailed oriented as I keep an agenda with me at all times to write down notes and due dates. I am a problem solver and can quickly and creatively think of solutions to problems on my feet. I can handle tasks with little direction and supervision. Lastly, I am not afraid to ask questions for clarification if I am unsure about my responsibilities. I would rather ask questions than do something wrong. In 1 year, I see myself as having improved upon my skills as a child care provider. I am working towards being a pediatric nurse practitioner and I would therefore like as much child care experience as possible.
