Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Joell, which happens to be my middle name. I don't know why my parents never called me by my first name, Mary, probably too many family members with the same name. I chose to have a career caring for children because that is what I love to do. I grew up the eldest of five children and had a great deal of childcare experience in my youth. I have had many nanny jobs through out my career and I have worked with every age of children ranging from newborn to twelve year old children. I am returning to the nanny field after completing my bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. I want to work as a nanny for a few years while deciding whether to pursue a Master's Degree. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and I love camping, swimming, and going to the beach most of all. I think that this is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I love to read, listen to music, do crafts, and have fun. I was a nanny in New York for several years, and found it an exciting place to live. I met my husband in New York. He passed away suddenly eight years ago and my little family has been working hard to press forward and find good things in life. I have two children. My son is nineteen and my daughter is thirteen. We have extended family in the area and I am fortunate for all of their support. I have first aid and CPR training. I have a clean background. I do not smoke, drink alcohol, or do any type of drugs. I am a very capable driver and I have an excellent sense of direction. I have been required to drive all over the Portland area when I work temporary nanny jobs for Caregivers Nanny Agency. I am confident driving anywhere, especially after driving in NYC. I feel that communication and respect are the two most important qualities that a nanny and a family can have.
