Hi there! My name is Megan and I am 22 years old, born and raised in Phoenix. A bit about my experience with childcare: I worked as a part time nanny to a three year old girl for a year when I was 19, as well babysat for a single mom with two girls (three and ten) while in high school. Although my experience may not be as expansive as others, I do feel like it has taught me a lot about childcare, despite it coming quite natural to me. I have had to calm children and put them to sleep when they are missing mom or dad, diffuse sibling disagreements, explain why we have to "go to swim practice and say bye-bye to our la la loopsies", and overall how to balance being an adult figure for a child to look up to and respect, while also being someone Read more they can have fun and be comfortable around. I also have experience/qualifications with some of the basic factors parents may want in a nanny: cpr certified, has a reliable vehicle, and am also more than happy to cook and clean. These are things that I enjoy doing for myself so I would take pride in doing them for you. I am open to working to any age of infant/child. I do not currently have experience with children under age two outside of being around my families toddlers/babies, but it is something I would like to work towards since I plan on becoming a midwife. I work at Starbucks as a shift supervisor part time, and have since I was 16. This is a job where I could potentially change my availability to fit your schedule. Starbucks has taught me a great deal about de-escalation, keeping my cool in heightened anxiety moments, as well as sensitivity to all the people that I interact with on daily basis.
