I was born in Portland, Oregon but left when I was three years old. My dad was in the Air Force, so we spent many enjoyable years traveling. I went to Indiana University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education, and I taught school for 24 years. I was an inclusion teacher in the special education department, both elementary and middle school. My students were generally bright students who had some difficulties with reading or math. Through reteaching and remediation, most often my students were able to do well in the general education classroom. I took ten years off from teaching to raise my three children, and I babysat for two families during my time away from the classroom. Two of the children were born during my tenure of babysitting, and they both came to me at 5 weeks old. I cared for the same two families during Read more my ten years of babysitting. Books, music, and creative play were encouraged. We enjoyed going on outings including the many parks, swimming pool, art class, children's museum, and of course we frequented the local library. I am interested in a part time position, and Ii live in downtown Claremont next to the Claremont Colleges. I am in good health as I enjoy bicycling and walking to explore my new city.
