My name is Teleah but all the kids and families I've worked with have called me Tay. I am a highly experienced nanny currently looking to work with one family in the Bend, OR area from 20-30 hours per week. In February of this year my husband encouraged me to follow my dream of opening a small private practice as a mental health clinician specializing in adoptive and foster family therapy. I have a masters degree in Social Work and pursuing my own, small business has been an incredibly rewarding experience. However, opening my practice at the same time as my husband pursues his masters degree has drawn be back to the work I love and have done throughout my education for extra income which is being a nanny. I have longer-term nanny experience with 3 families over the last 3 years as well as over 10 years of babysitting Read more experience. My higher education is solely about child development and parenting training so I am familiar with diverse and non-corporal discipline strategies that actually build relationships with kids instead of harming the relationship through excessive punishment. I cater my care giving style to the parents preferences. My overall style while working with children I care for is circle of security. While I love nurturing and playing with the kids I watch I also understand the importance of and encourage kids to explore and try new things, ensuring I am there if they should need or want comfort. Play is just as important as learning and they often happen at the same time and unconditional love is a must. In addition to my education I also take a lot of joy in teaching kids preliminary Spanish words as I am (almost) fluent in Spanish. My last CPR certification was in August of 2016 and though I feel confident in my abilities to perform life-saving actions and I am willing and able to renew that certification if the family prefers. I am able to drive and can provide proof of insurance. I am able to provide references of the two most recent families I have worked with. The ideal family I could work with is very open about difficulties or challenges that may arise and communicates with respect and kindness. We should also have a mutual respect for one another's time in terms of arriving, leaving and payment. Mutual trust developed overtime is so important; I will earn the trust of whoever entrusts me with watching over their children.
