My name is Elena and corporate life is not for me. After earning a degree in International Business from Baldwin Wallace University, I worked at various companies in an attempt to find my "niche." I learned many invaluable lessons during my time in the business industry. One lesson was that I do not have the capacity to be cutthroat, nor is it in my nature to sell people things they do not want or need. Another lesson learned? That it is instinctual for me to take care of others. I missed consistent, genuine human interaction and I wanted to feel like I was actually making a difference in my work place. Throughout high-school and college I babysat and nannied as a way to pay for business schooling. Now that I have earned two degrees and experienced several years in the field, it is clear to me that I missed my Read more calling. I focused so much on my end goal of receiving a diploma that I never stopped to question what made me happy. The most important lesson I learned, however, was that happiness is a choice. And if taking care of people feels natural and makes me happy, then that is exactly what I am meant to do.
