Meet Michela Anne

I have spent most of my life caring for children. I am the eldest of my mother’s five and I helped raise the others. My own seven children are adults and I have many grandgifts. I am a retired teacher and after retiring I got certified to be a birth doula; I was honored to assist at nearly seventy births! Additionally, I worked with children in a refugee camp in Malaysia for two years. In August this year my time as a nanny for two little girls ended when the youngest began preschool. I had been caring for her and her big sister since they were three months and three years of age. I am not just a babysitter. I take pride in the fact that I use my knowledge of child development and my teaching skills to provide intellectual stimulation through activities that are appropriate for their age and Read more stage of development. I do this through songs and music, reading stories multiple times in a day, playing with clay, pretending, building blocks, baby and toddler games, and for older kids: nature walks, art and crafts, and baking together. I think people who know me well would describe me as patient, caring, nurturing, creative, honest, and soft spoken. My ideal position would be part time, and with an infant whom I could care for and nurture.
