Hello! My name is Shylah Walker, and I recently graduated from Columbia University with a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, and am a registered occupational therapist. I adore working with children and am working towards becoming an occupational therapist in pediatric settings. On top of over 10 years of nannying and working with children between 8 months - 13 years, I have taken multiple courses in child development and pediatric care. I also have done multiple clinical rotations in pediatric settings in both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient settings such as sensory gyms. Most recently I completed a 12 week rotation in a school-based setting where I learned how to help children with pertinent skills to ensure success in school including handwriting, fine motor, gross motor, social, and cognitive skills.
