I started my child care adventure at a young age as the eldest of 4 children. This progress into a major in Human Development and Family Studies in undergrad, working in foster care, Healthy Families focusing on child development from the ages of 0 - 3 years, and eventually becoming a teacher. I spent 2 years working in Kindergarten, and the 2 years following in a middle school setting teaching Computer Science! One of the things that makes me a good care giver is my passion and love for children and their whole brain development. This includes both school preparation and their social emotional development, including regulating emotions and expressing themselves in healthy, age appropriate manners.
