Hello potential employer! I’ll do my best to keep this short and sweet. A little about myself I have two children (well I like to say they are children) their ages are 25 yrs. old and 14 yrs. old. I guess to be fair to them two really, really great young men. Any chance I get I will have my sons two step-brother’s age 8 and 9 and step-sister age 6 over for the night or weekend and we have a blast! Anyone who says I sound like an empty nester I’ll deny deny deny! O, but that’s a lie! I absolutely adore children. I consider it such a blessing and honor to enjoy all the innocent smiles and firsts they have. As far as my actual back ground I started babysitting regularly when I was only 12 years old. As the years went by I enjoyed working for CAO Read more ( Community Action Organization). I worked as a 1 on 1 with a darling young lady (age 4) who was disabled. I stayed with her throughout her day at preschool helping her with anything she found challenging, also eating, and toileting etc. After her 2 years in that program expired and she was on to bigger and better things I was lucky enough to be hired full-time with her Pre-School which was The Head Start Program. My duties there consisted in assisting the Head Teacher with pretty much everything. We played, we read books, we sang songs, you name it we did it and it was a ball! While working there I took the State Exam to work at The Development Center (WNYDDSO). It only took less then a year after the exam before I was called for a Full-Time position. My title was Direct Care Aid (DA). My Duties were to help people of all ages and disabilities ( meaning Mental, Physical, and behavioral) with every part of their daily living. After approximately 6 to 7 years there I was offered a higher position at The Children’s Psychiatric Center. Working there my Title was Secure Care Treatment Aid ( SCTA ). I worked on a Unit with Approx. 20 Adolescents that were placed there on court order by a judge. Most had Mental and or behavioral issues. I would have to say my main duty along with other staff was to keep the patients safe from themselves and others. After a period of time there I had an on the job injury and was unable to return. Although I was a bit sad and SUPER BORED… I became pregnant with my youngest son and decided it was best to give my all to my two miracles! Besides that I would have to say I’m a pretty well organized women. I have been known to be slightly OCD with cleanliness. 🙂 But in a nut shell I just love babies and children and I truly feel I could be a good asset to your family. Sorry not so short. 🙂 Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask away! Thank you for taking the time to read about me. Blessings!
