Hello! I am a 35 year old college graduate, BA Liberal Arts (Fine Art major), with nearly 20 years' experience in childcare. More recently, perhaps sparked by the pandemic, I became interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. In 2022 I became an EMT, then subsequently began taking courses toward my degree in nursing. I am now taking some time to work and to save so that I am able to complete my studies and become a registered nurse. My hope is to work in pediatrics, as I've always felt a special connection with and protective instinct toward children. Growing up the eldest of four, I took on many roles in helping look after my siblings: the default babysitter, teacher, confidante, referee, cheerleader, negotiator, therapist, and-of course-nurse. I would move on from babysitting my siblings to the children of neighborhood families; spend summers as the Creative Arts Instructor at my Read more local beach camp; and by high school, I'd progressed to nannying regularly for a wonderful family, with whom worked with for many years (from the time their eldest was in diapers to-and beyond-the birth of their fourth child). Childcare has always been a part of my life, helping to nurture and watch little ones thrive is something I find deeply rewarding and incredibly important. Childhood experiences can have such an impact. These are moments that can help shape a person's future- how they see the world, and how they view themselves. I can't imagine anything more rewarding than helping ensure these moments are safe, positive, and enjoyable.
