Hi! My name is Irene. I am an educated, energetic, fun/spirited, responsible, professional nanny, CPR/AED/First Aid certified, from Ft. Lee, with 15+ years caring for newborn to teenagers. I consider myself fortunate that families have trusted me with their homes, cars, pets, and, most of all, their children! I appreciate and never take for granted the pivotal role I would play in the balance and organization of your household, enabling you to focus on your job and other duties. I am very patient, not easily rattled, and realize not all days run smoothly. I have the ability to “roll with the punches,” choosing my battles carefully, letting the rest go. (Spilled milk, colicky distress, kids' tantrums, and sulking teens are all in a day's work!) I try to understand what children are experiencing, and then act accordingly. Aside from tending to babies’ most basic needs, an essential part of my job is to help with their developmental milestones, including their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills. Whether it’s taking their first step, first jump, or first bike ride, I’m just as proud as they are that I played a role in the development of that skill we worked so hard on. I am always willing to take a child’s lead in their learning and recreation, answering all questions respectfully and with insight. I have good communication skills and am always on the lookout for fresh ideas and activities to help them discover something new and develop their intellectual curiosity. I can help with homework, projects, and yes, even manners! I enjoy engaging in sports and other age-appropriate activities (e.g., parks, zoos, library, reading, arts and crafts, puzzles, playing pretend/dress-up, games, ABCs, numbers, colors, science experiments, cooking/baking), which all come before TV! I genuinely love children and pets, will respect your child-raising beliefs, have my own transportation and do not smoke. I am honest, punctual, and flexible, can multi task, value faith, health, and wellness, and have sound judgment/common sense and the passion and understanding to take children seriously and humorously as "little people" in their own right.
