Hello! My name is Amanda and I am a wife and mother of two wonderful children, a son who is 12 and a daughter who is 7. I obtained my Bachelors degree in 2002 from Western Carolina University in Hospitality and Tourism Management. After working in the corporate events sector for a number of years, I had the opportunity to stay home with my daughter for her first years of life. Once it was time for her to head to preschool, I was offered a position at her school via the TEACH program in North Carolina to obtain my Associates in Early Childhood Education. I started teaching at the Pre-K level. I loved watching their young minds grasp new concepts and truly enjoyed getting to know their families and loving them as they were my own. I have been a teacher for Younger and Older Toddlers and currently teach Early Read more Preschool (2-3 yrs. old). I love teaching and caring for young children. Now that my children are growing up, it's a joy to watch a new generation of children learn and grow and help them to reach their potential. I love using themed lesson plans based on time of year, seasons, holidays and more. I am a huge supporter of reading and love finding fun new books to share. I enjoy doing unique sensory play including crafts, sensory bins, etc. We are blessed with our own two special needs children and would feel comfortable caring for others. My son has High Functioning Autism/ADHD while my daughter and husband both have a rare from of Muscular Dystrophy called CMS. In my spare time, I love a good cup of coffee or tea, playing with our furbabies, walking in our neighborhood, live music, travel and spending time with our neighbors who are like family to us.
