Meet Monique

As an involved grandmother of six ranging in age from 2 weeks to 13 years, they are my joy! I love experiencing all children as they explore, discover, learn and grow. In part I believe this is because I raised my children for the most part as a single parent. This meant missing so much of their formative years in terms of “being present in the moment” as I generally kept 2-3 jobs while I worked my way thru college as a non-traditional student for my bachelors degree. All that to say, now that they are both in their thirties, loving and watching their children (and those of others) grow is an amazing blessing to me. In the past I have provided in home overnight care for 2 elementary school age boys for 3+ years while said parents worked nights. Over time I have worked in various state care facilities Read more for children who are wards of the state as well as for group homes of mentally challenged youth and adults. Further I worked as the director of an academic and extracurricular summer program for children ages 5 -17 with a staff of 12; not to mention my years of experience with a K-12 campus. For many years I considered fostering or adopting, however, as I have yet to marry, that ship has sailed. It is my hearts desire to continue to provide loving care for all children you cross my path.
