I started babysitting at the age of 11 years like most children do and I had a sister six years younger than me. I stayed at home when my oldest was young and when he was about two I returned to work. After my second son I then took care of another boy the same age down our street for two professionals and did that for five years and returned to worked pt. time on Friday evenings and Saturdays at a bank. I then had a daughter and still took care of him and transported a Dr.'s daughter who I was caring for and then they were in school so I returned to work full-time. I love children and after being down-sized and divorced in one year it has been an adjustment but I have grandchildren from ages 9 down to 1. I love them all dearly. I can provide Read more excellent references but my CPR has expired and I would need to have that updated. I believe in reading as early as possible and self and individual stimulation. Above all...that all important smile is so important. I also believe in getting a child out into the fresh air is wonderful, I love to walk and always walk whenever I can. As a child gets older and just to expose them to simple scenery or events is so important. I feel a schedule for activities, eating and napping works very well but I also realize that needs adjustment as your child grows older. I am pretty much a common sense person when it comes to an illness but I don't take chances either. Crying and teething are very common and loose bowels also. Sniffles are common but a fever is always good to have checked out because you never know. I always work with the parents with something like this. I could give many examples but this a general description on me the person and how I am!
