I'm considered a happy, reliable, warm, trustworthy, compassionate child care provider. Very energetic, fun, creative and organized. With over fourteen years of experience in the childcare and babysitting network my main focus is safety first and the child's emotional needs --trust and security. I stated babysitting at a young age and had a passion for infants. After graduating with an AA degree I studied nursing and worked as an LPN with newborns at the Maternity Ward of Jamaica Hospital in Queens, NY. In the 90s I worked for a prestigious pediatrician who passed away. I was fortunate to meet someone who traveled with me as volunteers on mission trips to South America and we worked with underprivileged indigenous children. Later, I began my own family. Equipped with real life experience, as a dedicated mother of two (college grads), my motivation is to help children become secure, independent, well-mannered, and polite. Read more I’m fluent in Spanish, read and write. I enjoy teaching. I ran my own daycare, for infants 4 weeks old and toddles, for almost 9 years in Maryland. Attended several workshops on children's behavioral patterns, psychology, anger management and eating disorders. Over the years I've also taken over five pediatric CPR & First Aid training courses, Emergency Preparedness Pack & Evacuation Plan, safe practices to reduce risk of SIDS, rhythmic soothing techniques, how to reduce the Moro (startle) reflex, white noice, swaddling 101 and other.
