As an Early Childhood Special Education teacher for 14 years, I worked with children from 3-5 years old, with and without disabilities. I taught critical language, social, and motor skills to children. I also taught them early math, literacy, and science skills. My other responsibilities included diapering, potty training, feeding, and cleaning. I interacted with families on a daily basis in person, over the phone, through email, through an app called Seesaw, and over Zoom. I provided families with the opportunity to have quarterly home visits and conferences. I also provided families with quarterly progress reports. I wrote IEP's (Individualized Education Program) for each student with a disability, at least one time per school year with input from the student's parent(s) and other service providers. I had leadership responsibilities as the ESY (Extended School Year) Coordinator for 3 summers and as the Team Leader/Department Chair for 6 years.
