I love, get along with, and have at least some experience with kids of all ages. I am very passionate about helping others including my 2 cats and 2 dogs, who are all rescues. While I do not have any children of my own (yet) my 4 [fur] babies challenge and grow my natural abilities as a care giver daily, and are a constant reminder of the benefits and value of love, nurturing and a little discipline. In addition to working towards my associates degree, I am a month away from receiving my massage therapist license, so care, comfort, and safety are top priorities of mine. As a part of a requirement for my licensing I am CPR certified (as of August 2020) and will be renewing my certification every 2 years. In order to safely practice massage or any type of therapeutic care (especially during this pandemic) I am Read more accustomed to ensuring that my business, home and any area I occupy meet a esteemed standard of cleanliness and sanitation. Conversely I am naturally organized, appreciate and enjoy interior decoration, and actually find most cleaning to be very meditative. Besides myself, I also feed two other people and I love to cook and learn and try new recipes. I enjoy spending lots of time in nature and creating art. I am always excited to share these experiences with others. I’ve worked over 4 years total at 2 family friendly restaurants (Pizza Hut and Bertuccis). I also have over a year of volunteer experience at Angel’s Touch Care Assisted Living. In this time my responsibilities included but were not limited to assisting, entertaining, and conversing with residents, cooking for the residents and occasionally their families, and most importantly ensuring the comfort, happiness and safety of all residents. I have been taking care of my little brother and babysitting my neighbor’s children since I was young. I’ve always seemed to have knack for entertaining, understanding, communicating with children and seem to connect with them quickly with great ease. I have been regularly looking after a 2.5 year old and her grandmothers blind and deaf dog for the past 2 years. I also occasionally look after another 3 year old. This 3 year old is shy at first and speaks very little, but from the first time I met her she immediately took my hand and gestured me to read her a book. She has slowly added a few words to her vocabulary and everytime I look after her, I make sure to emphasize a practice in vocalizing her words. When we read, I push her to try to identify things she sees in the pictures. I will tell her if she doesn’t know a word for something and we try to practice the word. The director for my school has 2 10 year old boys who I supervise from time to time. I will usually help them with their online school work until they are finished at which time we play games or watch movies. As previously stated I am comfortable and interested in caring, cooking, and cleaning for children of any age group, as well as your pets. If your child has any interest in art that is a bonus. I currently take 2 online classes at AACC, but aside from that my schedule is relatively free, so I hope you consider me for your caregiver.
