I was a senior executive with a Fortune 500 company and retired to raise my children. I didn’t want to miss it. They are both adults now, and I miss those days. Both of my children read far above their grade levels by the time they finished grade school. I didn’t drill them or force them to practice. Instead, I instilled a love of a good story by reading to them consistently, and choosing books where we could follow adventures and look forward to our time with the characters each evening. Outside time, outings, and play dates were also prominent in my children’s lives. They both found their passions, but until they locked onto their favorites, we tried many things and I ran the mom taxi non-stop. During covid, I was a nanny for a young family with a 19 month old and a 6 year old. From January - Read more June of 2024, I was a tutor in two AACPS elementary schools tutoring 4th and 5th grade math. I currently volunteer at a therapeutic riding center (and have at various centers for many years) . Often, the clients that I support are children with physical and/or mental and emotional challenges. I love swimming, kayaking, hiking, and biking. It’s important to me to stay fit enough to stay up with the kids. I don’t want to miss the fun! I love animals. Until recently, I owned and ran my own horse farm and I have almost always had a beloved dog with me from childhood to this day. My Aussiedoodle, Milo, is an awesome hiking companion . I can’t wait to meet your family.
