I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. As soon as I was old enough, around 11 or 12 years old, I took a babysitting course and began working for families in my neighborhood. I have worked for numerous families and organizations since then. I have been a camp counselor at both day camp and sleep-a-away camps. I have worked in two different preschool settings where I was around children ages 0-5 years old. One of the preschools severed low income families with many of the children I cared for having acute trauma histories. I have also worked with children as old as 14-15. I have been a travel nannying where I was responsible for the health and safety of a five year old during several trips as she was immunocompromised. I am always happy to clean around the house and make sure the home environment is safe and comfortable for the entire family. I have recently graduated from the University of Vermont with B.S. in secondary education, a history concentration and a minor in special education. Childcare is my life's calling. Over the years I have tried a few other jobs here and there but I always come back to childcare. I love getting to work with individual families in the way that nannying allows for. I am a very relational person and enjoy building relationships with the families I work for. Nannying is my greatest passion. My teaching philosophy is based on the ideals of gentle parenting. I strive to provide structure and expectations for children while also giving them the love all children deserve. Children thrive in environments when they have structure and expectations, it helps them trust the adults around them and encourages the development of healthy relationships.
