Early Childhood Care...or tidying up and kids' laundry! I am a graduate of Wheelock College (1996) and have worked in both group child care settings and in private homes. I have experience with infants, toddlers and preschoolers For the last four years I have worked as a nanny for a family with two young children. I started with them when the older of the two was just 3 months old. Just before that I worked as the lead teacher of an infant program in Downtown Boston. I have also worked as a nanny in the past for a family member and for non-family, and was a lead toddler teacher for many, many years. In addition to my formal career in education, I had many babysitting jobs starting in my early teens and ran a Sunday nursery program for children whose parents wanted to attend church services. I believe that exposing them to many different activities that allow them to touch, see and hear different materials such as play-dough, paints, musical instruments etc., and providing them with opportunities to explore the world around them, both indoors and out, is important for their physical, emotional and social development. After having worked for many years in both group and in-home environments I have found that nannying is where my heart is and I would like to work on a one-on-one basis with a little one again. This would allow me to provide more personalized care to an child and his/her family as I have done for the last few years. My availability is limited to MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS, starting in October, as I have a prior commitment the other days. I am open to one-time/per diem babysitting positions. I am C-19 vaccinated and boosted and live in a smoke free home. Or, if you don't need child care, but just want someone who can tidy up the kitchen after breakfast, put toys away, and do the kids' laundry while they are at school, daycare, etc., I can do that too!
