Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a 22-year-old post grad living in Boston, Massachusetts. I have nine years of experience in childcare working with ages 2 through 17 years old. Most of my experience comes through working at the YMCA in both their overnight resident camps as well as their after-school programs. I hold a lifeguard certification that includes CPR and first aid, as well as emergency oxygen. I am a certified swim instructor and enjoy teaching kids water safety and swimming skills. I graduated with a degree in Gender, Sexuality and Women's studies, which I incorporate into my childcare experiences by allowing gender play without judgment. I believe kids are naturally curious about the world around them and should feel free to explore and learn about themselves and others in an age-appropriate safe space. I love to incorporate music into childcare. I play the ukulele and started Read more a ukulele program in my work at summer camps in order to allow children to experiment with music. I find the ukulele to be a great first instrument as it is small enough for kids hands and you only need to know a few chords to play almost any song. Currently, I work as an after-school program coordinator at the YMCA for kids ages three through seven.
