Hi, my name is Olivia! I am an openminded, creative, energetic artist who has have been caring for children since I was 14 (almost a decade!). I have experience with children aged <1 to 12 and experience with special needs children aged <1 to 10. Because of this variety of experiences, I am responsible, flexible, and patient. I believe in empathetic, positive methods of teaching little humans how to 'human', and fostering kindness towards all, creativity, age-appropriate independence, and imagination along the way. Each child is an individual and needs to be met where they are and encouraged to explore their emotions and needs and how to communicate them in a way that makes them (and you) feel heard. Childcare is a joy to me--children bring a sense of wonder and inquisitiveness to the world which is my goal to nurture. I'm very active and creative, growing up in the Read more woods and all over the country means I can provide plenty of lessons about the natural world and how to appreciate and protect it. I highly value knowledge and its exploration--does you child have a special interest or topic they love learning about? I am also an artist with art ed and musical experience, so you can count on plenty of creative crafts and activities to get your child's gears going (as well as more ways to get them to help clean up after!). I am a pretty good cook if I do say so myself--I love to make meals and fun/healthy snacks alike! I even like to let the children help with age-appropriate tasks if they choose--this can help foster a sense of responsibility and independence (plus, it helps that I find they are more likely to finish a meal the helped make!). I myself have a milk allergy, so I have a lot of experience working with food allergies, intolerances, and other special dietary requirements. I also have many years of experience with pets of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments, and love taking care of/playing with them! Due to my lack of a car, locations within a brisk 15-20 minute walk of an MBTA line preferable if possible. I look forward to meeting you and your family! :)
