10 years of experience taking care of children of varying ages from infant to elementary school. I was at my most recent position for 3 years, from the time the first little girl was 3-months old, through the birth of their second daughter who I met and began care for 2 days after she was born. We went on lots of walks and day trips and I cared for them both overnight on date nights and for a full week while their parents were on vacation. I was also a full-time nanny for 18-month old twin girls, one of whom had special needs stemming from a rare condition in which her nerves didn't develop fully in utero causing her to have developmental delays due to limited control and coordination of her muscles. Before I left, I began aiding the family in teaching her baby sign language. Daily activities included creating Read more developmentally appropriate playtime and learning activities, teaching crawling and words, feeding meals and bottles, keeping a naptime schedule, and occasionally taking care of the children when they were ill and administering medication/albuterol breathing treatments when necessary. Before that, I acted as a live-in nanny for two 5- and 7-year old boys. Duties included meal preparation, school drop off and pickup, homework help, morning and bedtime routine, cleaning, laundry, and daily activities planning. I originally became a child caregiver because I love having the opportunity to watch and assist children in growing up and finding the things they are passionate about. There are very few things in this world as magical as watching a child discover something that they love and helping them pursue it to their fullest potential. Whether it be cooking, baking, science, art, or music, every child should get the chance to find their passion and have fun doing it. That's also the reason I became a volunteer with a program that teaches the arts to kids with special needs, which has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I was also involved in an educational, professional traveling theatre company for children in the summer of 2017.

Jennifer has been a wonderful nanny for my twin toddler girls. More than that, she has taken on multiple roles as both caregiver and advocate for one of our daughters with a rare disorder that limits her mobility and ability to communicate and eat normally. Jennifer was comfortable with our daughter's g-tube and other medical needs and very involved in her continued physical and feeding therapies. We have found her to be honest and dependable and very flexible with her schedule to accommodate our needs. I have no doubt she will make an excellent addition to her next family and she will be very much missed!
