Hello! :) My name is Kristi and I like to think of myself as a (responsible) kid at heart! Being around kids reminds me of the pure and simple joys of life that we tend to take for granted as we get older. My husband and I are moving to Chicago this August and I’m looking for a job that will give me the flexibility I’m looking for to acclimate to a new home while still feeling fulfilled at the end of the day. I have been a 7th grade English teacher for the last 5 years and I am certified to teach 5-12 grade. I love being a teacher and I’ve learned so much from my kids the last few years, but I’m looking to explore my abilities and personal passions and this move to Chicago felt like a sign from the universe to try something else for a Read more little bit. I’ve been babysitting since I can remember and I was also a lifeguard for 8 years growing up as well as throughout college. I have experience watching children of all ages (family, friends, and neighbors alike). My husband is my best friend and we’re so excited to have a family of our own one day. Together we enjoy traveling, hiking/camping with our big teddy bear Alaskan Malamute named Kula, seeing live music, spending time with family, and meeting new people :) I’ll end with this thought: there’s so much happening in the world today and, as a teacher, aunt, and hopefully future mom, I know that education starts at home. Children are observant sponges and they’re listening, watching, and soaking up the world around them even when we don’t realize it. They’re our chance at a better, safer, happier future and I intend on doing my part to lift up and encourage any child I come across to grow into the best version of themselves.
