Hello! My name is Ashley Greenwood and I currently nanny for a family in Evanston. I nanny their 7 year old twin girls and their 11 year old son. I assist with the children’s e-learning, assist with household management, and much more. Starting in June, my hours will be cut to 20 hours a week. This is why I am looking for another part-time or full-time nanny position. I am passionate about working with children and I am passionate about education. I feel that I am making a difference in children’s lives when I nanny. I also felt this way working as a paraprofessional at a school for students with special needs, and when doing an educational show for children across the Midwest. I love teaching children in an imaginative and creative way. I know how make children interested in what they are learning about, so that they want to Read more learn more. I know how instill important goals and values in children, and help them accomplish those goals while making sure those goals and values align with their family's. I have experience working with infants and children up to 14 years of age. In 2017, I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Acting. From my degree in theatre, I have learned to be a great collaborator and motivator. I was in a travelling theatre group at a museum in Indiana where I worked as both an actor and stage manager of an educational musical. We performed over forty shows in front of a wide variety of children, families, and schools. I learned how to provide families with an experience that is welcoming, safe, accessible, playful, and educational. As a part-time nanny for two families, I bathed and dressed the children, changed diapers and potty trained, did laundry for the children as well as light housekeeping for the family, organized bedrooms/toys, planned meals and prepared food, played with the children both indoors and outdoors, did educational activities and crafts with the children, read to and with the children, helped with homework, administered medicine with parents’ consent, and established nap and bedtime routines. I also organized play dates and drove children to school, activities, and play dates. I became well versed in helping establish good feeding and sleeping habits in infants, and well versed in supporting family values. In my time as a part-time nanny, I gained strong communication skills, and was reliable, punctual, flexible, and patient. I am fully vaccinated, and I have a valid driver’s license, as well as a car!
