I recently graduated with my Masters in Education at DePaul, along with an Illinois Initial Elementary Certificate :Self-Contained General Education Grade Kindergarten through 9th grade. I am available for your convenience, weekday nights and weekends :) I do not own a car, but I have a clean driving record and live close to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Most recently, I was a nanny for the Qureshi family in Lincoln Park starting inn June 2013. They had a fun loving toddler daughter, that I nannied for from age 6 months -22 months. I enjoyed taking her to music class, the Nature Museum and taking fresh air walks around the neighbor. I indulged her in educational play and also, made her homemade organic baby food purees. The family I nannied before the Quereshi's , was The Sandison family from July 2011 till June 2013. Their loving family consists of Brookie, ( 11 months when Read more I started and 3 yrs when I ended and Blake 3 1/2 years old till age 6). In summer of 2013 they moved to the suburbs, but I still go out there to visit and babysit them :) I just went to Brookie's dance recital and she will be 6 in August!!! We love to do art projects together and currently the Sandison house is covered in butterfly and Star Wars drawings we have made together :) Both children have raw egg and peanut allergies so, I am constantly very aware of what I feed them, as I would be with your children. As for their adorable son Blake, he has minor sensory issues and I work very well with him due to my teaching background and classes I have taken on special needs children.I have a lot of patience and can adapt myself well to many situations.I am always prepared with a backup plan if an activity or art project gets out of control or a temper tantrum arises. I want you to know that I do take my job very seriously, and also try to share my knowledge with the children. I make sure that they are in a warm, caring environment and that they are disciplined only when it is appropriate.I know that everyone raises their children differently and I am quick to adapt to your system that you have with your child. All of the families would be more than happy to speak with you about me and my experiences with their children while recommending me for yours.

Nicki has been in our lives and caring for our children as I have needed for the past two years. In that time, she has become a part of the family. Miss Nicki is not just a "babysitter" or even just a "nanny." She truly connects with the kids she is caring for. My son is a force to be reckoned with (albeit a wonderful one!) and she takes the time to look at the behaviors, figure out what is driving it and help him meet his needs. My daughter adores her. When my daughter was hospitalized with RSV for 4 days, Miss Nicki (a single, 20-something) came to sit with us at the hospital on a Friday night ON HER BIRTHDAY before heading out for an evening with her friends. When I was working, Nicki took my kids to introductory classes and helped me decide which would be best for each based on her education background experience and my kids enjoyment of each. She comes up with art and science projects of her own accord and works with them. She has been known to make a dinner side by side with the kids for my whole family as a welcome surprise to my husband and me. I think it's unfortunate that the one-star reviewer (she even clarifies she only hired her a few times) carries the same weight as the others who hire her more often and on a consistent basis, but I am sure if you are reading all you'll understand that you should give her a call. Truly, if I were in need of full time care, she'd be on my payroll! Amy

Nicki babysat for me three times. The first time she was great with the kids, cleaned up afterwards, etc. The second time I left my car with her to take the kids to a party. She used my car and took my kids to run her own errands. The last time, she used my computer when I specifically put it away and said there is no use of my computer when I'm not home. She did something to the computer that cost me an entire day at the apple store and more $ than the three days of babysitting.
