Hi! My name is Ruth, I live in Ravenswood, I have a cat named Wrigley and I love to draw and paint at the park or at the lake! I’m currently nannying for a family on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but am looking for other part time or occasional opportunities. Throughout high school I enjoyed babysitting for family friends and neighbors, as well as nannying on my summers off. I took a small break from childcare while I was in school at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, but found my love for childcare again when I got my first job at a daycare as a classroom floater at Little Green Treehouse where I learned a lot about early childhood education. My second daycare job was an assistant teacher in the toddlers classroom (ages 18 to 36 months) at Ravenswood Childcare Community Center where I had more responsibility leading Read more circle time and creating lesson plans. My favorite activities to do with the kiddos were of course art projects, but it was also so much fun to see them play with slime, water, sand and other sensory activities we planned for them. I recently nannied part time for a family with a toddler and infant and am comfortable managing two different schedules simultaneously. Unfortunately they moved out of town which puts me on the job market again, but I’ve had really positive experiences through Sittercity and am excited to connect with more families!
