Hello! I am an educator who has worked with students of all ages for the past 6 years. I have taught primarily at independent schools in Chicago and have an MEd in English Language Teaching and Learning. This school year, I am taking a break from being in the classroom due to the pandemic, however, I am excited to continue providing my services to families who need it during this uncertain time as an instructor or as extra help for students doing remote learning. My specialty is teaching small groups and tailoring my instruction to fit my students' needs. Most recently, I was a classroom teacher for students in a mixed classroom for grades 2 and 3. I have also taught as a grade 4-6 ELA and social studies teacher. I have experience teaching students with a variety of emotional and learning differences, including ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and students Read more on the Autism spectrum. I am happy to provide my resume upon request! I have experience teaching remotely, as this past spring, I was required to pivot to online instruction due to COVID-19. My approach to teaching involves student-centered instruction, where kids are involved in the expectation setting as well as experiential learning. This means that I love giving learning experiences that involve equal parts project/play and traditional instruction. Additional qualifications include: teaching Spanish at an elementary level as well as teaching English to ELLs. I am open to providing additional child care services, including preparing meals, picking up and dropping off kids as needed, and doing light housework.
