I grew up in Oak Park where I began caring for children over 25 years ago. I started taking care of infants and toddlers with my first babysitting job at age 11 for a neighbor down the street. That's when I realized how much I loved taking care of children and how satisfying it was to provide parents with loving care. In my early twenties I made nannying a career when a couple that my sister was friends with was having their first child, I was recommended to them. I cared for their son from 3 months until age 3 years. After he entered preschool I continued to care for him on weekends and after school. On their block were many lovely families who also needed loving care for their children. One of their neighbors who had two little boys, ages 3 months and 2 years, welcomed me into their Read more home to care for their boys for 1.5 years. While caring for them I had become pregnant but I continued nannying for them until my son was born. After my maternity leave I returned to care for the boys part-time for many years to follow. While I cared for the two boys I also cared for twin infant girls a few times a week and also on weekends. After my son got a little older I returned to nannying full time for a family with a 3 month old girl and a 3 year old boy. My responsibilities included taking the 3 year old a few times a week to and from preschool, preparing meals, and naps. We took many fun trips around the city to places like the zoo, museums, parks, the beach, and the pool during the summer. I cared for them for about 1.5 years. I then returned to school full-time to finish my bachelor's degree in Fashion Design. After a few years I graduated and I worked in fashion retail only to return to nannying. I then cared for a infant girl from 2 months until 2 years old. We also had many fun trips to the parks, museums, zoo, and beach. I then moved to Albuquerque, NM and nannied for a family with a 2 year old girl and 10 year old boy. I cared for them for a little over a year until she started preschool. I then worked at a spa for 4 years in Albuquerque, NM, as a spa manager. I also nannied for a family with 3 children ranging in ages 5, 3, and 1.5 on my days off and some weekends. When I started caring for them they had a 2 year old and 3 month old. They since have had another baby who is now 19 months old. Throughout my life I have been caring for families. It brings me great joy and satisfaction to know I can provide, loving, nurturing, and safe care for families.
