I started babysitting around the age of 13. It started with my neighbors and then my parents closest friends when they went on a date or out of town and I loved it! I went to college for my freshman year out of state so I lost contact with many of my usual families. However, when I came back home, one of my old volleyball coaches recommended me to her friend when her sitter literally walked out on her. I was with that family for two years but the welcomed a sweet new boy into their family while I was in season so they moved on to someone with a more open schedule. Thankfully, another similar situation happened and through word of mouth I have babysat for two new families in the past two months and I couldn’t be more blessed. I graduated from Brenau University December 16th of 2017 Read more with a bachelors in Health Science and am going back to school during the fall and need an income to tide me over until then. The children I normally babysit are in the age ranges of 2-5 but I have experience with 4 day olds to 11 year olds. My goal in life has always been to help children. While the position of a babysitter, nanny, etc. is extremely helpful to the parents, to know that the person being left to take care of them in place of their parents for a time being is truly there to care for them is truly helpful for the children. Boo boo? They can come to me. Math homework? They can come to me. Asking to read a book but only wanting to point at things and ask “What’s that?” I got it covered. Through my experience, I have found that children are the first to know if you are trustworthy or if you’re qualified to take care of them. This is what I love to do, and children can tell.
